The Advanced Diploma in Management and Retailing combines two distinct but complementing subjects of management and retailing. The programme is about managing in the retail business sector; managing people, suppliers, marketing, consumer behaviours.
Each level of study consists of 120 credits. Upon successful completion of the Advanced Diploma, students may advance to the Queen Margaret University BA Management and Retailing programme.

This module provides students with an understanding of the conceptual framework of business finance, to develop the skills of analysis, and evaluation needed in applying the concepts to practical real life situations. It aims to develop the student's understanding on how financial management can assist management in the sourcing and utilisation of funds. Students are introduced to a critical examination of the theory and practice of financial management, investment decisions and dividend policy.
This module provides students with a framework for understanding employment relations and management of human resources in diverse organisations, such as in the Hospitality and Tourism industry. It aims to develop students' abilities to adapt and manage an increasingly diverse and competitive business environment. Topics include job analysis and job design; planning,recruiting, selection and orientation; training and development; compensation, incentives and benefits; and evaluating employee performance.
This module highlights the latest developments in global economy and global marketing
environment. Students learn to appreciate the dynamics of the changing variables in the
environment and how to engage in transactions and relationship building with the customers.
Students engage in real life research assignments in the Singapore marketplace. This course
enables students to learn from both local and international industry leaders and expand students' potential for career success in the dynamic, complex and challenging business environment of tomorrow.
This module provides an introduction to research methods. Business students learn how to find, use and manage information in order to improve on decision making and a gain competitive advantage in the marketplace. Marketing Research includes ??market' research; research into new products, or modes of distribution such as via the Internet. Marketing Research links the consumer, customer, and public to the marketer through information ?C used to identify and define marketing opportunities and problems. Students are introduced to the concepts and methodologies of Marketing Research and its applied approaches to practical business situations.
This module provides students with the concepts and practices in Operations Management.
Students are introduced to the role of operations, the link between strategy and operations,
productivity, decisions in the operations area, planning and control of inventory, projects and the transformation process including Total Quality Management, Just-In-Time, Kanban and 'lean production' systems.
This module focuses on the unique challenges of managing services and delivering quality
service to customers. Students learn the importance of building strong customer relationship
management through quality service. This module is relevant and applicable to organizations
whose core product is service and to those who depend on service excellence for competitive advantages.
This module provides students with the concepts and skills to manage retail operations
successfully. Students are introduced to the proper handling cash, implementing sales policesand processes, managing stocks, planning marketing promotions, and providing customer service.
This module provides students with the knowledge, concepts and tools to be more effective in dealing with peers, subordinates and business associates. It focuses on developing the student as an effective and successful manager. In this course, students learn the impact of individuals, groups and structure on the behaviour within an organization, for the sole purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organization's effectiveness.
Each module is assessed by academic work comprising written assignments, case study reports, essays, examination as determined by the subject profile. The assessment criterion varies from module to module and level to level.
Generally the curriculums for all levels are taught over 4 terms of 12 weeks. Modules are conducted in formal instructor-led classroom sessions where students are introduced to the course discipline. Each term will cover 2-3 modules with 50 contact hours per module. Lectures are 2-hour sessions and Tutorial 3-hour sessions weekly.

East Asia Institute of Management, EASB, is in the first batch of PEIs to be awarded the 4-year EduTrust Certification by the Council for Private Education. EduTrust certification recognises PEIs that have robust academic systems and processes, and have attained quality standards in the delivery of education.
EASB has adopted both the escrow bank account and insurance scheme for the protection of total fees paid by all students as required under the EduTrust Certification Scheme.
EASB has in place a mandatory group medical insurance policy as required by the Council for Private Education for all students’ hospitalization and treatment throughout their course duration. In addition, EASB has a group personal accident insurance coverage for all students.
