Preparatory course for singapore-cambridge general certificate of education (ordinary level) examination

EASB Preparatory Course for Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) Examination offers a curriculum in line with the requirements of the GCE “O” Level Examination. It also embeds EASB Foundation programme-related subjects.

The GCE “O” Level examinations are held once a year and is a recognized school leaving certification. Through this preparatory programme, students are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge and are eligible to take the GCE “O” Level examinations. Students who perform well in the GCE “O” Level can gain entry into government junior colleges, or polytechnics. They may also opt to join EASB’s Certificate of Business Management or diploma courses.

Programme Objective

This programme thoroughly prepares candidates for the GCE “O” Level Examination through intensive lessons. Assessments are also conducted on a regular basis to ensure that students’ academic performance is monitored. Assessments are aligned with the syllabus stipulated by the Ministry of Education Examination authorities.

    • The English Language module provides examination focused training to students on the various categories assessed under English Language for GCE
  • 2. Elementary Mathematics
    • The Elementary Mathematics module aims to provide students with the fundamental mathematical knowledge and skills. Students develop thinking and metacognitive skills relevant to problem solving
  • 3. Physics (Practical lessons are conducted in the Physics Laboratory)
    • The Physics module aims to equip students with the understanding of energy, matter and their interrelationships. Students also develop skills that enable them to become confident citizen of the scientific world and to develop an informed interest in Physics.
  • 4. Additional Mathematics
    • The Additional Mathematics module aims to prepare students for success in GCE
  • 5. Principles of Accounts
    • The Principles of Account module aims to develop an understanding of the principles and concepts of accounting and their applications in a variety of business situations. Students acquire basic knowledge in double entry and develop the ability to prepare, present, analyze and interpret financial statements.
