Jim Ling is the HOS of EASB, Design, Media & Arts. He is also the founder of Lionheart Studio and also the Wacom Master Artist( Singapore).  Jim has a myriad of experiences in the game, commercial arts and design, in education and training. He is also well versed in the entertainment art sector. Jim has worked along with a pool of clienteles, including Facebook, Tudor, Lenovo, Zizagame, Wulven Games Studio, Dungeons & Dragons & many more.

James is a Ceative Director at Slingshot Troopers who provides freelance work for conceptal art direction, graphic designing and selective commissions for original illustrations, portraits and caricatures.

Design game prototype

Registration starts: 15th October to 5th November 2019

 

Become the game design prodigies of tomorrow as you embark on an exciting game idea that comes from not only your mind but the culmination of inspiration, culture and reality all around you. Craft and show the world, your interesting game idea and be the selected few to showcase your work! Win the Digital Game Prototype 2019!

 

 

Participants are to design and develop their game idea which can include any of the following;

 

  1. A simple Storyboard for the game idea 

  2. A simple Moodboard 

  3. A Game brief/description in a word pdf format for the idea (minimum 150 words)

  4. Game Prototype video, showcasing an interactive 2D Platformer/side scroller playable video game (game develop needs to be playable on windows/mac PC), using Construct 2 or Construct 3 game engine. The video must contain 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay playthrough.

  5. Provide a URL link to download the items mentioned above (Google Drive / WeTransfer).

  6. Participants will submit their final entries by 5th Nov.

Specialist Diploma in

Game Design & Development

Specialist Diploma in Game Design and Development is a 9 month course focusing on crafting and developing solid conceptualizes idea from paper to a mobile prototype. Students will be taught the core fundamentals of art and design thinking. This course covers core component development in Game Design including storytelling, character development, game design development, game programming and other game concepts in various forms. In addition, there will be a 2 month Industrial Attachment upon successful completion of the course.

 

This course will groom students to become a well-rounded entrepreneurial Game Designer, Level Designer, a 2D & 3D Game Artist or a Gameplay Programmer who can design and develop a game idea from conceptualisation to project proposal and from prototyping to production.
